Project Specialist – Women Entrepreneurship Strategy

The Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada (APF Canada) is seeking a full-time, fixed-term Project Specialist, Women Entrepreneurship Strategy, to provide logistical and research support for the Diversity and Inclusive Growth Strategy for Women Entrepreneurs in the Asia Pacific project and the Toronto Office. This role is to advance the project by providing direct support for the All-Women's Trade Mission series. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the program's logistics and technical requirements by arranging and procuring services in Canada and Asia and communicating and coordinating with delegates and vendors. Also, this role will involve member outreach and engagement in service of growing and maintaining the CanWIN network.


The position will report to the Senior Program Manager, Diversity and Inclusive Growth Strategy for Women Entrepreneurs in the Asia Pacific, Central Canada Office.

 Successful applicants will have the following qualifications


  • Master's (preferable) or, at minimum, a Bachelor's degree in a social sciences or humanities field.
  • Excellent communications skills – written and verbal – 3-to-5 years of experience with communication in client-facing services, lead generation, and/or external stakeholder development
  • 3-to-5 years of previous work in government or think-tanks
  • Experience working on international events coordination, especially in the gender equity and diversity space, will be considered an asset
  • Proficiency in French and/or an Asian language will be considered an asset.

 

Major Responsibilities

 

The successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively to support the foundation's work and will engage in the following activities:

 

  • Arranging logistics and services with in-market contacts and vendors (airfare, hotel, ground transportation, catering, etc.) for events
  • Supporting the development of online and, when feasible, in-person activities for program participants, such as arranging informational webinars and growing and maintaining professional networking platforms, particularly CanWIN.
  • Produces briefings on other areas of research, analysis, and convening related to Toronto office activities.
  • Other duties as assigned in support of APF Canada.
  • Duties may require international travel.

 

Eligibility

 

Applicants should be eligible to work in Canada and have completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree. The successful applicant will ideally work out of Toronto, ON, partly remotely and partly from APF Canada's Central Canada office in downtown Toronto, Monday to Friday, during regular office hours for five days a week. Please note that on-site work expectations will vary due to COVID-19.

 

Compensation

 

We offer a base salary commensurate with experience and level of expertise subject to the APF Canada salary band and a comprehensive extended health benefits package including but not limited to vision and dental care, paramedical services, telemedicine, Family & Employee Assistance Program
